There’s nothing like a day at the beach to fuel the appetite, which is why we’re bringing our guests a much bigger choice of food vans this summer.
From delicious and authentic dumplings, to a twist on the hot potato, there will be something for every taste.
Just to whet your appetite for summer on the Bellarine, here are some of the food vans heading our way:
Portarlington Holiday Park vendor area
The Lil Dumpling Van – 100% handmade dumplings using high-quality ingredients
The Fresh Meal Fairy – serving home-made food, coffee, snacks and ice cream
The Spud Stick- spuds with a twist!
Portarlington Pier
Just Chillin’ – soft serve ice creams
Rockin’ Twistie Potatoes- twisted potatoes, hot dogs, dim sims and more
Central Victoria Doughnuts – everyone’s favourite – hot jam donuts!
Food vans are open to all, whether you’re a guest, a local resident or a day tripper.
For those who prefer to cook
Our parks and open spaces are well equipped with barbecues and seating areas (refer to campsite maps for information).
Pick up some mussels fresh off the boat and cook them up at camp.
Mr Mussel will be selling fresh mussels at the start of the Portarlington Pier, as well as other seafood.
Or when you’d prefer to dine out
Stroll into town and treat yourself to a delicious meal at one of the town’s cosy cafes, renowned restaurants or the newly renovated Grand Hotel.
After a multi-million redevelopment, this landmark hotel is set to reopen for summer, serving everything from bar snacks to fresh seafood, across four dining areas. Keep an eye on updates at the Grand Hotel website.
Some family friendly dining options just a short drive away include the Portarlington Golf Club bistro or try the nearby Clifton Springs and Curlewis golf club bistros.
And of course the region’s wineries are always a good choice. See here for more info on where to wine and dine on the Bellarine.
So all you need for a great break this summer is to rock up, park the van or set up the tent (or unpack your belongings in the cabin) and plan your culinary adventure.
