The carnival is definitely not over, in fact, it’s just beginning! From Christmas Eve until 26 January (closed Christmas Day), Portarlington’s foreshore reserve comes to life with rides for all ages, sideshows and food. The carnival has become synonymous with summer at Bellarine Bayside.

 2. Choose your own Adventure Park experience

Fantastic fun for the young and young at heart, Adventure Park at nearby Wallington is always a winner with our holiday makers. Victoria’s largest water park also puts on a spectacular night time Christmas festival of lights. Check out the website for more:

 3. Ride the Bellarine railway

Check out Bellarine Railway’s website and organise a unique experience for all ages to enjoy. Unfortunately the Polar Express Experience is sold out but there are other experiences including Swan Bay Express heritage train rides or Day Out With Thomas. See for timetables and bookings.

 4. Piano bar is back, baby!

We’re excited to welcome back the Piano Bar Experience to Portarlington. Kick up your heels at the Portarlington Cricket Club – it’s just a hop, skip, jump (or stumble) from our holiday park. With nightly shows, live music and bingo, it’s going to be fabulous fun. See info and bookings here.

5. Check out the mussels

Summer means mussels at Portarlington and the annual Mussel Festival is growing bigger each year. Mark Saturday 13 January on your calendar and plan a visit to the Bellarine for this one day only food and wine extravaganza. Marvellous mussels will feature alongside local musicians, roving kids entertainment and cooking demonstrations.

Another option is joining a Portarlington Mussel Tour. Climb aboard a refurbished 40-year-old mussel trawler for this exclusive small group experience where you learn all about mussels from a farmer, a cook and a deckhand. It’s the perfect holiday treat or gift for someone special (note, tours are for ages 12+ only. See more at:
