It’s true that rising costs are stretching the family budget and holidays can be a bit of a luxury these days. But did you know there are lots of ways you can still enjoy an affordable family holiday by the beach?

At Bellarine Bayside we offer low-cost campsites, great value family cabins and cosy beachfront pods. And the best thing is, once you get settled in, you can enjoy the natural environment and free park facilities without spending a cent.

Five-star views on a shoestring

Why not drop in a line and see if you can catch your own dinner? If that fails, you can always pick up something fresh in town or buy mussels off the boat at Portarlington pier.

Our new camp kitchen at Batman Park, Indented Head*, is proving a big hit with campers. Here you can feast on fresh local produce while enjoying five-star views across the bay!

Portarlington Holiday Park (open all year) is also well-equipped with cooking facilities and seating, while free electric BBQs are available across all our parks and on the foreshore.

* Batman Park is one of our seasonal parks, open until 28 April.

Who needs theme parks?

At Bellarine Bayside the beach is right on your doorstep, so make the most of nature’s playground. The water is still warm at this time of year which is perfect for swimming or  snorkelling. Out of the water there’s also plenty to do, like building sandcastles, beach walks, and family games.

At Portarlington Holiday Park (open all year), the jumping pillows, playgrounds and the very popular pedal carts are always a big hit. There’s even a Treasure Hunt to keep the kids entertained. Visit reception and pick up a treasure map, follow the clues and write the answers on the map, then bring the completed sheet back to reception to win a prize.

Looking to burn off more energy? Head to the basketball courts, tennis courts or footy oval all nearby. The extensive playground at WG Little Reserve is right next to the holiday park and boasts one of the best flying foxes around – the kids will love it!
