Tree planting works

Trees are vital to the coastal landscape, enriching its character and identity while providing essential ecological services, historical connections, and benefits to community health and wellbeing.

We’re undertaking tree planting works in the coming weeks to along the coast between Portarlington and St Leonards. These efforts will add nearly 200 trees and several thousand native shrubs, grasses and groundcovers planted this winter.

These trees will help offset 12 tree removals during the 2024-25 financial year, undertaken to manage tree health and risks to public safety, and based on independent arborist assessments.
