Based in Geelong, Jessica is currently working in the Northern Bellarine Green Army Team that is supported by Conservation Volunteers Australia and hosted by Bellarine Bayside, Barwon Coast, Parks Victoria, Bellarine Landcare and Bellarine Catchment Network.
Joining the Green Army has provided Jessica with an opportunity to gain a wide range of skills, knowledge and training during her gap year. She enjoys being part of a team that works across a variety of projects and organisations because it has given her greater insight and exposure to a wide network of collaborative organisations and individuals in the environmental conservation area.
Learning about bush tucker during the cultural heritage training and native plant identification are two highlights of Jessica’s Green Army work thus far in the 6-month program. Jessica is proud to be part of a dedicated team of like-minded young adults achieving positive results for the local Bellarine environment. She hope to pursue study in horticulture or dietetics after completing her Green Army journey.
