Campfire trial
There’s nothing better than sitting around a campfire with family and friends, and maybe toasting a marshmallow or two!
We are running a three-year trial of fire pits available to hire at our holiday park in Portarlington.
In 2024, you can hire a fire pit and purchase timber for use on a limited number of casual campsites from 1 May 2024 – 15 September 2024 (or until the start of the Fire Danger Period, if declared).

Details
- Campfires are restricted to the designated campfire zone and to the use of the supplied fire pits only.
- Firewood must be purchased from the holiday park’s reception only to ensure it is sustainably sourced and appropriately seasoned to reduce smoke emissions.
- In the event of a total fire ban being declared by the CFA, campfires will not be permitted.
- Campfires cannot be left unattended at any time and must be extinguished by 11pm.
- Metal buckets will be supplied with the firepit and must be filled with water and always kept beside the firepit.

Pricing
- $20 fire pit hire fee per week (including fire pit delivery to your site).
- $20 per 15kg of sustainable firewood, plus kindling and firelighter pack.
