Pack your woollies for a wonderful winter escape at Bellarine Bayside.
The locals are friendly, the fires are crackling and the events are just firing up!
In winter the Bellarine Peninsula transforms into a cozy coastal haven. Whether you’re seeking cultural festivities, scenic strolls or culinary delights, you’ll find a variety of experiences to warm your soul.
You can also enjoy toasted marshmallows by the campfire at our Portarlington Holiday Park over the winter months. So start planning your winter getaway and make the most of the cooler season.
Here are few of our favourite things to do this winter:
Have a craic at Celtic song and dance
The National Celtic Festival makes a welcome return to Portarlington on the long weekend in June.
The festival is a major highlight of winter on the Bellarine, bringing music, dancing, food and fun to the town across four big days.
This year’s refreshed program includes a stellar lineup of international and Australian artists, as well as theatre, food, dance and more.
Looking for somewhere to stay? Take advantage of discounted camping rates at our Portarlington Holiday Park and the free shuttle bus. See the National Celtic Festival website for info and bookings.
Head for the snow, ice and lights
Not long now until snow falls at Adventure Park in Wallington. Discover a glowing winter wonderland of snow, lights, fire and ice. Adventure Park’s Winter Glow Festival is on from 28 June to 9 August.
Why not head down before school break and beat the holiday crowds?
Adventure Park is just a short drive down the Bellarine Highway and is sure to delight visitors of all ages.
Chill out at cozy cafes and wineries
Warm up at one of Portarlington’s cozy cafes, where you can enjoy a hot beverage and local delicacies.
There’s no shortage of spots to enjoy a hearty breakfast, sweet treat or quality coffee. Try Pier St cafe at the mouth of Portarlington Pier, for seaside views and delicious food including famous Portarlington mussels.
Or hit the road and explore the nearby wineries of the Bellarine Peninsula, offering tastings of exquisite local wines. See here for some of our favourite local places to wine and dine this winter.
